Support for LGBTI Groups during COVID-19 Since the COVID-19 crisis emerged Equality Network has been working to continue their capacity building support for LGBTI groups around Scotland. In the first instance they set up a facebook group for LGBTI groups to join, share good practice and network. If you run an LGBTI group in Scotland please consider joining, the group can be found here. They will also be running an LGBTI Groups Virtual Roundtable on Thursday 25th June at 6.30pm. It’s an opportunity for LGBTI groups, inc. pride organisers, staff networks, social and support groups, organisations and sports clubs, to come together to discuss the challenges faced during this crisis and to agree collective steps to be taken to support our communities. Equality Network are pleased to be joined by Christina McKelvie MSP, Scottish Government Minister for Older People and Equalities to share what the government is doing to support LGBTI people during COVID-19 and to listen to the views of LGBTI groups. DWP training register The DWP is looking for providers to join their Dynamic Purchasing System to deliver training and support, including digital delivery and remote video sessions. The priority areas are:
Employability – Training of any type that leads to a job outcome. (e.g. Security, Child minding, Bus/Lorry driving, Civil Service etc.)
18 – 24 year olds. Potential for being disproportionately impacted by Covid.
Digital Skills – Possible increase of customer requiring IT skill training.
Mental health – Coping with impact of Covid etc.
