Training Bursaries to Support Heritage Craft Skills
Description: Grants are available for under-represented Black and ethnically diverse groups across the UK to support the development of heritage craft skills. The Heritage Crafts Association’s Training Bursary for Black and Ethnically Diverse Makers seeks to support those who may be starting out on their journey in craft or at the point where they want to turn a hobby into a career, or where they are already a maker who is looking to further develop their heritage craft skills.
Criteria: The programme could support costs such as training with a craftsperson, specialist training courses, living costs while training with a craftsperson, specialist tools or materials, and books and study materials.
Minimum: £0
Maximum: £4,000
Closing Date: 5pm on 13th December 2021

Architectural Heritage Fund – Project Viability Grant
Description: The AHF can provide grants to help with assessing the viability of a project, or to help fund development costs for historic building related regeneration projects based in Scotland. Project Viability Grants (PVG) are to fund studies to look at potential uses for a building and at its current condition, and usually produce a Viability Report to a standard template. Successful completion of this will be used to judge whether applicants can then apply for the AHF’s Project Development Grant funding, and can be used to secure further funding elsewhere.
Criteria: Unincorporated organisations that are intending to incorporate (for Project Viability Grants only), SCIOs, Charitable Companies Limited by Guarantee, Charitable Community Benefit Societies, Community Benefit Societies, not-for-private-profit Companies Limited by Guarantee and Community Interest Companies (CICs) Limited by Guarantee may apply. To qualify, an organisation must have established that the end use of the project is likely to be viable and have decided to take the project forward.

Maximum: £10,000

Thanks to funding from the William Grant Foundation, projects in Scotland may be eligible able to apply to the Tailored Support Fund. This is intended to help organisations and projects that may not fit will within the criteria for our other grant programmes. We’re particularly keen to hear from projects that might be aiming to create something unique and exceptional; or which will contribute more widely to enriching Scotland’s built environment fabric through trying new and better ways of doing things, i.e. innovative approaches with potential for replication and wider learning.
Criteria: Unincorporated organisations that are intending to incorporate (for Project Viability Grants only), SCIOs, Charitable Companies Limited by Guarantee, Charitable Community Benefit Societies, Community Benefit Societies, not-for-private-profit Companies Limited by Guarantee and Community Interest Companies (CICs) Limited by Guarantee may apply.

Description: The Elephant Trust offers grants to artists and for new, innovative visual arts projects. It aims to make it possible for artists and those presenting their work to undertake and complete projects when confronted by lack of funds. The Trust supports projects that develop and improve the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the fine arts
Criteria: Priority is given to artists and small organisations and galleries making or producing new work or exhibitions.

Description: Traditional Arts Small Grants Fund is providing support for traditional artists and organisations to create, perform, tour and showcase their work. The fund will provide grants for organisations and individuals involved in the Scottish Traditional Arts including dance, music and storytelling. The fund can also support professional development and learning projects.
Criteria: Organisations and individuals involved in the Scottish traditional arts including dance, music and storytelling are encouraged to apply.

Museums Galleries Small Grants Fund
Description: To help the museum and gallery sector recover from the Coronavirus pandemic, Museums Galleries Scotland has launched a new funding round of their Small Grants Fund. This round of funding will continue to support accredited museums with grants to help them build resilience, re-engage with audiences, cover critical repairs and maintenance, and become more environmentally sustainable. Non-accredited museums can now also apply for grants. Funding could be used to cover costs such as: staff and volunteer training; new exhibitions or events; improving digital access; urgent repairs to buildings and facilities; and upgrading heating or lighting to more energy efficient systems.
Criteria: Accredited and non-accredited museums may apply.
Minimum: £0
Maximum: Accredited museums: £15,000, Non-accredited: £10,000

Performing Arts and the Conservation of Historic Objects
Description: The Leche Trust is a grant-making charity that provides funding to UK registered charities, public authorities or institutions in the areas of the Performing Arts and Conservation. The priorities for Performing Arts are: excellence in professional performance; the production and performance of new work; the development of young, professional artists aged 18 or over. Through the Conservation funding stream, the Trust will support projects to conserve historic objects, collections and features of buildings and landscapes which date from the Georgian period or earlier, i.e. pre-1830s. Projects may include acquisition costs (for objects) and conservation surveys as well as remedial work.
Criteria: Trustees are inclined to give grants to smaller projects, or specific elements of projects, where their contribution can make a greater impact. In the case of churches, Trustees will consider supporting the conservation of such features as monuments, wall paintings, stained glass, and historic furniture and fittings.

Description: Small community groups and charities based in Scotland can apply to the Weir Charitable Trust for funding of up to £25,000 to support projects relating to: Sport i.e. encouraging and increasing public participation in sport, Health i.e. the prevention or relief of sickness, disease or human suffering, Culture i.e. supporting heritage through participation projects, The advancement of animal welfare, Recreational Facilities i.e. the provision or organisation of recreational facilities.
Criteria: The Trust accepts applications from new or established community groups and small charities, based in Scotland and providing services in Scotland, who are struggling to secure funds through mainstream funders or who have unsuccessfully explored all the statutory sources of funding.

Maximum: £25,000

Criteria: The Trust supports programmes that address the lack of opportunities for professional musicians, dancers, actors, writers, artists and those involved creatively in the arts at an early stage in their career.
