Funding to Support Members of the Armed Forces and their Families (UK)
Description: Army, Air and Naval units are encouraged to apply for funding for projects that improve the quality of life for serving personnel and their families living on or near an Armed Forces base or station in the UK or overseas.
Criteria: Grants of up to £25,000 are available through the NAAFI Fund for projects that help serving personnel and their families be healthier and more active, as well as providing activities or enhancing spaces to socialise in order to improve their mental health.Grants of up to £50,000 will be considered for larger projects that aim to make more substantial change.
Maximum: £50,000
Closing Date: Applicants must submit a 50-word summary of their project by the 25th May 2022.​

The deadline for full applications is 12pm on the 13th June 2022.

​Pink Ribbon Foundation Grants
Description: Grants are available to relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or have been affected by, breast cancer by providing, or assisting in the provision of, information, care, or emotional, practical and financial support. Also to advance public education in the understanding of breast cancer and its early detection and treatment.
Criteria: Any charity working in the field of breast cancer may apply.
Minimum: £0
Maximum: £5,000

Funding to Support the Education of Young People with Physical or Learning Disabilities (Scotland)
Description: The John Watson Trust awards grants for educational purposes to children and young people under the age of 21 who have a physical or learning disability or who are socially disadvantaged.Whilst the Trust operates primarily within Edinburgh and the Lothians, it may also award grants Scotland-wide to eligible individuals and organisations that include schools, established charitable organisations and other groups supporting disadvantaged young people.
Criteria: Grants can cover expenses such as:
  • Special or additional tuition
  • School trips (must be applied for by the school and not individuals)
  • Bus passes
  • School expenses such as books and equipment
  • Laptops where there is a special education need
Schools may also apply for help towards school trips or outings for eligible pupils. In exceptional cases, where personal circumstances make boarding necessary, school boarding fees may qualify for a grant.
Minimum: £0
Maximum: £5,000

Grants to Support the Housing Needs of Vulnerable People (UK)
Description: The grants are being made available across 11 UK regions through the £4 million Nationwide Building Society Community Grant Scheme. The program will fund between 50% to 100% of the total cost of projects lasting up to two years to help prevent people from losing their home, help people into a home or support people to thrive within the home environment.
Criteria: UK registered charities, Community Land Trusts and housing co-operatives can apply for grants to support their work in tackling housing issues affecting vulnerable people. The types of costs covered by the grant includes:
  • Core costs – up to 20% of the grant amount requested, including running and facility costs, office equipment, supplies, printing, travel and accommodation.
  • Staff and volunteer costs for the project lead partner – including full-time staff, part-time staff, project delivery staff costs and other related expenses.
  • Small-scale capital costs – including one-off expenses for equipment, or fixed assets that may have use or benefit beyond the life of the grant (one financial year), such as computer hardware, or items required to deliver a project, such as paint, paintbrushes and gardening equipment.
  • Activity costs – such as catering or insurance, costs that help deliver projects or activities but fall outside of capital, staffing and volunteering costs.
  • Development and capacity building costs – that support organisational sustainability, such as training staff and volunteers, and external consultancy fees.
  • Building works and refurbishment costs – where they’re essential to the successful delivery of the project.
Minimum: £25,000
Maximum: £50,000
Closing Date:  The closing date for applications is the 27th May 2022.

Co-op Local Community Fund
Description: The purpose of the fund is to help you deliver a project that benefits your community.
Criteria: You must be a not for profit group and deliver a project to benefit your local community. You can apply if your project:
  • brings people together to access food
  • helps improve people’s mental wellbeing
  • creates opportunities for young people to be heard and make a difference
  • helps people protect local biodiversity or tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions
Minimum: £1,000
Maximum: Variable depending on store location and Co-op member votes. 
Average award is between £1,000 to £3,000.
Closing Date:  Midnight 29th May 2022

Funding for Local Projects to Reduce Isolation Amongst the Armed Forces Community (UK)
Description: The funding is being made available through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust's Force for Change programme. Grants are available for community projects supporting Armed Forces communities. In particular, funding is available to support Armed Forces communities to become less isolated and engage more in their local area, and to support needs that have arisen as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Criteria: To be eligible to apply, the applicant organisation must be an established registered charity or Community Interest Company (CIC) with substantial recent experience of supporting Armed Forces communities; an Armed Forces unit or base; a local authority; or a school.
Maximum: £10,000

Funding to Support Vulnerable Migrants (UK)
Description: Not for profit organisations and private law firms that work with young migrants can apply for grants through the Strategic Legal Fund (SLF) for Vulnerable Young Migrants. Limited funding is available and therefore lower applications are encouraged. The average grant size is around £12,000. Grants are available to undertake strategic legal work to benefit children and young people (under the age of 25) who are significantly disadvantaged by migration status. The fund will accept applications in any area of law that affects migrants:
  • Who are living in poverty, and
  • Who face significant disadvantage or discrimination in connection with their immigration status.
Criteria: The SLF only funds two kinds of strategic legal action- pre-litigation research and "third party intervention" in an existing case. The maximum grant length is 12 months, and most grants are for around six months.
Maximum: £30,000

Fund to Support Collaborative Mental Wellbeing Projects
Description: Delivered by the British Science Association and funded by Wellcome, the Ideas Fund, will support up to seven collaborations between community groups and researchers to develop and try out ideas that address problems related to mental wellbeing.
Criteria: A total of £1.2 million in funding is available for initiatives that improve the mental wellbeing of communities in North West Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Oldham and Hull. The fund is particularly keen to support rural or minoritised ethnic communities or young, marginalised or socioeconomically disadvantaged people who have been overlooked in the past.
Closing Date: The deadline for expressions of interest is midday on the 8th June 2022.

Funding to Help People with Parkinson's to Become & Stay Active (UK)
Description: The Funding is for new activities that encourage people affected by Parkinson’s to participate in physical activity and sport, or increased participation in these areas. This could be anything fun and enjoyable that encourages people, particularly those from isolated and ethnic communities, to get moving such as a walking group, joining a Parkinson's boxing class, or playing ball games.
Criteria: The funding, which is made available through the Parkinson’s UK Physical Activity Grants Programme, can be used to cover costs such as equipment, facility hire, maintenance of equipment, coaching fees, and training.
Maximum: Community groups and organisations across the UK can apply for grants of up to £2,500 to help people with Parkinson's to become and stay active.
Closing Date: The closing date for applications is 12pm on the 10th June 2022.

Funding for Community Radio Stations (UK)
Description: Ofcom, the UK’s telecommunications regulator has announced that the Community Radio Fund has re-opened for applications.
Criteria: 
Grants can only be made to community radio licensees in the UK, who are broadcasting under a community radio license. A total of £393,816 is available to help support the core costs of running licensed community radio stations. Grants can be awarded to support:
  • Management
  • Fundraising to support the station
  • Administration
  • Financial management & reporting
  • Community outreach
  • Volunteer organisation and support.
Maximum: Grants awarded in the past have ranged from £2,160 up to £19,717 with the average grant being £14,292. These awards included: £16,500 for a Deputy Station Manager/Promotions Manager at GTFM, Pontypridd: £7,504 for a fundraiser at Eden FM, Penrith and £2,160 for a Listener survey at KCR, Keith.
Closing Date: The closing date for applications is 5pm on the 10th June 2022.

​Grants to Help Museums Become More Resilient (Scotland)
Description: Museum Galleries Scotland’s Museum Development Fund will provide funding for activities that produce positive outcomes for collections, audiences, workforce and sustainability.
Projects should focus on:
  • Developing digital capacity
  • Re-engaging with communities
  • Workforce capacity and resilience
  • Building resilience
  • Responding to the climate emergency
Criteria: Organisations in Scotland that are running accredited Museums can apply for grants of between £15,000 and £50,000 for projects that will help them to become more resilient.  Organisations that care for Recognised Collections can apply for up to £60,000. All applicants should contact MGS before starting an application on 0131 550 4115 or at grants@museumsgalleriesscotland.org.uk​
Minimum: £15,000

Maximum: £60,000

Funding for Projects that Have a Positive Impact on Communities, People or the Environment (UK)
Description: The Matthew Good Foundation has launched a Grants for Good Fund to support small charities, not-for-profit groups and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about making a difference to people, their community or the environment. The Fund will share £10,000 between five shortlisted projects, which will be voted for by John Good Group employees. The project that receives the most votes will receive a grant of £3,500, second place £2,500, third place £2,000 with fourth and fifth place both receiving £1,000.
Criteria: As well as established projects and charities, the Foundation are keen to hear from people with innovative ideas that need some funding to get their projects up and running. To be eligible, applicants will have to have had an income of less than £50,000 in the last 12 months
Minimum:  £1,000
Maximum: £3,500
Closing Date: Funding is awarded every three months and the deadline for the next funding round is the 15th June 2022

Grants of up to £5,000 Available for Projects that Help the Homeless (UK)
Description: Help the Homeless makes grants of up to £5,000 to small and medium-sized charitable organisations (with a turnover of less than £1 million) whose aim is to help homeless people return to the community and enabling them to resume a normal life. 
Criteria: 
Typically, such organisations may operate small or medium-sized residential or training facilities to assist homeless people.
Minimum:  £0
Maximum: £5,000
Closing Date: The closing date for the next round of funding is the 15th June 2022.

The Happiness Fund for Community Health and Wellbeing Projects 
Description: Funding is available for grassroots, neighbourhood-based community projects that build happy, strong, resilient communities across the UK.
Criteria: Individuals and small, not-for-profit businesses can apply for funding to set up new groups and activities that improve mental health and wellbeing, inclusion, and learning and skills development in local communities. To be successful, applicants will need to indicate how the activity/group can become self-sustainable or be able to attract funding from other sources for the longer term.
Maximum: The funding is made available through Laughology’s Happiness Fund, which makes one award of £2,500 per quarter, allowing up to four different projects per year to be supported.
Closing Date: The next deadline for applications is midnight on the 17th June 2022.

Arnold Clark Community Fund
Description: As part of their commitment to give back to the communities in which they operate, Arnold Clark have created a fund to help registered UK charities and local community groups continue their important work during this challenging time.
Criteria: Open to all UK-registered charities and local community groups, community interest companies, charitable incorporated organisations and social enterprises. You can only apply once per round of the Community Fund.
Minimum:  £0
Maximum: £1,000
Closing Date: The Arnold Clark Community Fund will suspend taking new applications on the 30th June 2022 at 11.59pm​
