The Poverty Alliance is excited to host the fourth in our quarterly Argyll and Bute anti-poverty sharing and learning events with Argyll & Bute TSI.

This event will focus on human rights in rural Scotland. With the recent commitment from the Scottish Government to introduce the Human Rights Bill “in the next parliamentary session”, how can a human rights lens help us combat poverty in our communities?

We will be joined by Luis Yanes, Project Lead for the Scottish Human Rights Commission’s recent project on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in the Highlands and Islands and Lydia Murphy from the Poverty Alliance’s Rights in Action project. Hear about findings from their work with rural communities, and join us to explore how a rights-based approach could contribute to supporting resilience and strengthening equality in Argyll and Bute.

As usual, the event will also include:

  • Updates from Taking Action on Rural Poverty and the TSI
  • Info on participation opportunities
  • An opportunity for sharing updates and facilitated networking

If you have any updates or anything else you would like to bring to this meeting please contact Becky Hothersall: [email protected] or Ralph Hartley: [email protected].
