Let’s Move Together Fund: Versus Arthritis
Description: Versus Arthritis want to address and prevent the likely reduction of marginalised communities driving sport and physical activity forward, by fostering and protecting community bodies, coaches and volunteers. By recognising the need for this funding to be opened UK wide, Versus Arthritis has made £150,000 available through The Let’s Move Together Fund which will support organisations in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Organisations in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland should work on creating opportunities for people with long-term health conditions to stay active in their local communities. We particularly welcome applications from organisations who support people with long-term health conditions, people from culturally diverse communities, disabled people and lower socio-economic groups. Higher than average mortality rates from COVID-19 have created a culture of fear where people are choosing to stay indoors to keep safe. We also know disabled people and those with MSK conditions are more likely to continue self-isolating because of the increased risk to their health.
Criteria: Funding should be spent within six months of being awarded, as the aim of the fund is to address the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minimum: £1,000
Maximum: £5,000 (Additional funding may be available above the £5,000 limit but you will need to discuss this with a member of the Versus Arthritis team before submitting the application)
Closing Date: Please note we expect this fund to be oversubscribed and it will close once we receive sufficient high-quality applications. We expect all funds to be awarded by 30th September 2022

Please note that the funding cannot be used as matched funding for a project already supported through the Scottish Government Drug services Funds
Minimum: £1,000
Maximum: £10,000
