Brand for Growth
Description: In Brand for Growth (Adapting to Thrive), Social Enterprises have the opportunity to benefit from a fully funded re-evaluation of their brand. Successful applicants will embark on a bespoke rebranding exercise to align and strengthen the organisation for the new future. This will comprise consultancy, design and rollout phases resulting in a revitalised brand outlook, revised visual identity and a starter pack of brand resources. The programme is seeking social enterprises in Scotland with high growth and impact potential who can demonstrate that they would benefit significantly from a top level branding exercise they may otherwise struggle to resource.

Description: The Architectural Heritage Fund Project Viability Grants are available to enable organisations to work out whether a proposed use for a building will be economically viable. The grant will contribute towards the cost of exploring different options for reuse or testing a single option. At the end of the process applicants should be able to make an informed decision on whether the organisation should commit to further cost, risk and effort in developing the project. Priority will be given to projects involving historic buildings that have statutory protection (i.e., listed or in a Conservation Area and of acknowledged historic significance) and at risk and projects that have the potential to make a significant positive social impact.
Criteria: To apply for a grant, applicants must be a formally constituted charity or social enterprise whose members have limited liability.
Minimum: £0
Maximum: £7,500
Closing date: 30th April 2021

The funding is being made available through the UnLtd the leading provider of support to social entrepreneurs in and around the UK. The grants are being made available through two funding streams: grants of up to £15,000 to grow an existing social enterprise; grants of up to £5,000 to start a new social enterprise. UnLtd are committed to providing 50% of their awards to Black, Asian and minority ethnic social entrepreneurs, and/or disabled social entrepreneurs.

In order to tackle this issue, the Sustainable Futures Fund focuses grant making on: Identifying the true costs and risks of resource depletion, climate change and other environmental problems; Campaigns, initiatives and work that promote alternatives to consumerism; Campaigns and movements that give a voice to young activists and marginalised groups on issues of economic and environmental justice.

Description: The Cruach Trust is a small charity which provides financial support for gardeners, retired gardeners and for preserving gardens throughout the United Kingdom. Previous projects supported have included supporting a horticultural apprenticeship, arranged through the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, grants for gardens, wildlife and the natural environment and grants for music, the arts and cultural charities. The trustees also have discretion to make donations to a wide range of organisations in the UK and abroad, with charitable objectives of whatever nature.
Criteria: Funding is available to registered or recognised charities, societies, trusts or other bodies with a preference for small local and national charities.

Grants to Support Action for Marine Conservation
Description: Sea-Changers Main Grants programme has funding available to support creative and innovative approaches which have lasting benefits and outcomes to tackle the root causes of marine conservations threats. Sea-Changers is particularly interested in grassroots projects which galvanise community action.
Criteria: Marine conservation charities and not-for-profit organisations (including schools) based and working in the UK can apply for grants towards projects and research that address the root causes of marine conservation threats and challenges in the UK and increase the number of people taking action for marine conservation.

National Lottery Community Fund – Growing Great Ideas Programme
Description: The Growing Great Ideas programme, part of the UK portfolio, funds projects that support long-term societal change.
Criteria: Lead organisations need to be a registered charity, CIC, SCIO, Community benefit society, Co-operative society, voluntary or community organisation , statutory body (including community councils - they can be part of the initiative but not lead it), Company limited by guarantee (if it has a not-for-profit clause). The minimum length for projects is two years.

Description: A new five-year £70 million Scottish Government Recycling Improvement Fund to improve recycling services and treatment infrastructure has opened to applications. New innovations and improvements could include: promoting waste prevention or reuse; improving the consistency of collections; collecting problematic materials such as electrical items; improving sorting and treatment infrastructure; introducing new low-carbon technologies that would deliver wider environmental benefits, or encouraging behaviour change.
Criteria: Local authorities, groups of local authorities and local authority-led partnerships involving the third and private sectors are invited to apply to the Recycling Improvement Fund to help drive new innovations and improvements to recycling in their area and across the country.
Minimum: £16m is available in the first year

Description: From late January 2021, adventure and marine tourism businesses in Scotland will be able to apply for a share of a new £2.5 million fund, to be administered by VisitScotland, to help them prepare for the 2021 visitor season. It's aimed at responsible tourism operators who provide sustainable outdoor related activities to visitors on land and water, from wildlife watching to charter and sailing holidays, bushcraft and survival to canoeing and mountaineering.
Criteria: The fund will support essential re-commissioning and re-start costs for businesses, aimed at those who have been significantly affected by the pandemic due to their seasonality and high set up costs associated with the activities they deliver.
Minimum: £0

Previous projects supported included £1,000 to purchase seven recycling bins for a school canteen; these bins allowed pupils to segregate waste, reducing the amount of waste going into landfill and £1,700 funding to a primary school to redevelop its forest school facility and plant hedgerows creating an environment for wildlife to thrive.
Criteria: The fund is open to anyone but schools and educational facilities across the UK working on green projects with their students and start-up companies working on developing environmentally friendly products are particularly encouraged to apply.
