Job Description
Main purpose
This post has been created to support the start-up and early foundations of Orchy and Awe Community Trust (OACT), the implementation of key projects for 2026/27 and co-ordinate the development of a new Community Action Plan/Place Plan for 2027-32.
Person Specification
We are looking for a dynamic individual with great inter-personal and communication skills. You will be the lead individual responsible for co-ordinating the above activities. You will need to have a proven track record in partnership working, community engagement, project funding and delivery (see detailed person specification below).
Key Duties
Assist Orchy and Awe Community Trust to prepare an overall project plan for key projects.
Work with existing sub-groups, assisting them to engage appropriate community members/ stakeholders, access funding streams and take forward particular projects.
Work to maintain high levels of engagement and involvement across our different communities to increase OACT membership and ensure support for taking the issues identified forward.
Monitor and report on progress to the OACT Directors.
Specific Responsibilities
Work with OACT Board and relevant sub-groups to agree priority projects and develop a project plan for implementation of projects.
Take a lead in developing and funding projects. Develop projects to the “funding ready” stage, including securing commitment from other stakeholders. Prepare a funding strategy for projects and undertake funding applications to secure necessary funds.
Provide day to day support to the OACT Board to implement actions outlined in the Community Action Plan. This to include setting up and attending meetings, preparing short reports as requested, developing draft action plans and providing information and advice as required.
Develop and maintain an update awareness of policy, funding and other initiatives relevant to the ambitions of OACT and share this as required.
Identify and maintain contact with a wide range of relevant stakeholders and interest groups to ensure ongoing engagement in and support for our plans.
Support the development of social media and other channels of communication to ensure widespread awareness and involvement as projects move forward.
Provide support, advice and actions to develop the voice, engagement and involvement of individuals and communities who currently may not feel well represented.
Continually monitor progress against plans and make recommendations as to whether alternative courses of action are needed in relation to any projects.
Terms and Conditions
This is initially a one-year post £33,000 per annum pro rata 17.5 hours per week. The salary is designed to reflect both the level of experience we are looking for and also the fact that you will work from home and much of the time, on your own initiative.
We are looking for someone who can bring experience in a similar role and someone who has easy access to and will be able to be active across the Glenorchy and Innishail Community Council area.
