A June afternoon in Dunoon!

Dunoon will take centre stage as this year’s Argyll and Bute Volunteer of the Year Awards come to Cowal!

Now in its sixth year, the Awards are co-ordinated by the Third Sector Interface and provide an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of local heroes from across the region, who give their time and contribute so much to the communities across Argyll and its isles.

As the Third Sector Support Advisor for Cowal and Bute, I am really excited that the 2026 Ceremony will be on my home turf. With this year’s event theme being sustainability, there will be stalls showcasing some of the amazing local organisations that help us live in mindful harmony with this rugged and mountainous area – with its ancient woodlands and rainforest, coastal saltmarsh and mudflats, moorlands and peatmoss.

Although nominations for the Volunteer of the Year are now closed, it is still possible to get involved in the sustainability showcase by taking a stall – or joining the community fashion show! Check out our Events page for more details, or email [email protected].
