Housing Support Officer – Technical

Argyll and Bute Care and Repair are an independent registered charity, funded via the Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership, to provide practical advice, assistance, technical services and helpful information to the elderly and/or disabled to enable them to remain in their own homes in comfort for as long as they wish.

Requirements

Applicants will need to demonstrate competent joinery skills and also have good all-round small repairs and general house maintenance experience, including minor plumbing and electrical work. Based from home, you will support our referral partners to install a range of equipment in our elderly, disabled and vulnerable clients’ homes, including telecare devices, grab rails and bannisters, door locks, keysafes, thresholds, etc.  Training will be provided.

You will require a current clean UK Driving Licence (work vehicle provided) and be familiar with basic computer use, including using email.  Time served in a relevant trades discipline is preferred (preferably joinery).

References

Work references and a PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check will be taken up for the successful applicant prior to starting.

Benefits

Salary £27,000 to £30,000 per annum.

Hours: 35 hr work week, Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.00.

Annual leave – 28 days personal leave and 12 public holidays.

4.7% Contributory pension.
