  • Mactaggart Leisure Centre Lunch Club

    Mactaggart Leisure Centre, Bowmore, Isle of Islay

    Every Thursday between 12:30 and 14:00 we have a seniors lunch club in our Howat Room. Here we serve soup and sandwiches and extras with a focus on healthy eating. All soups are hand made from scratch and accompanied by homemade bread and pittas. We try to keep everything simple, honest, local and healthy, with as few preservatives as possible. There is no fee for this but donations towards the session’s upkeep will be greatly appreciated.

    The pool is also heated to a slightly higher temperature on a Thursday, so why not come in for a swim and then have lunch. We are hoping to promote wellness through physical activity and healthy eating for all.

    2026 Dates: Tuesday mornings 13 January until 17 March 11am-12.30pm
    Drop-in for a blether, hot drink & cake.
    We will have lots of board games and cards available too.
    No need to book just come along.
    The Hub is FREE to attend & all are very welcome.
    The Community Vehicle will be available to transport registered passengers to the Hub at no charge.

  • New Hope Cafe

    2-4 Soroba Road, Oban PA34 4HU

    Our community café is open from 11am-2pm Monday to Saturday offering a warm welcoming place to have a cuppa and a conversation. A delicious vegan homemade soup, plus a daily special of toasties, jacket potatoes or similar is served from 12-1.30pm daily. We host an evening meal on a Friday at 5pm. We simply ask for a minimum contribution of £1 to help cover costs.
    Our daily activities, starting at 2pm include:
    • Fellowship Group (Mon)
    • Craft Group (Tue)
    • Movie/music afternoon (Wednesday)
    • Music Group (Fri)
