About the role

Argyll and Bute TSI is looking for someone to cover the maternity leave of our Walking Development Officer. This is a fixed-term, employed post, working one day per week (7 hours). The post is available to start as soon as possible and runs until March 2027. Please note: this is a maternity cover post only, with potential to extend dependent on funding.

The primary focus of this contract is sustaining and developing the GP Walking Practices pilot in Campbeltown and Lochgilphead. This is part of the Communities Working Together programme – a multi-agency initiative embedding walking as a health and wellbeing intervention within primary care. Working in partnership with GP practices, link workers and We Are With You, the pilot offers walking prescriptions to patients and supports people to get active in their communities.

You will work under the direction of the Wellbeing Development Manager, supporting walk leader activity, building relationships with local partners, and contributing to monitoring and communications for the project.
