Nicola Porciani

Chair

Bio

With thirty-years’ experience in the Third Sector (with 20 of those years within palliative care), my background is in Community Arts using creativity to empower communities and marginalised groups to develop, incite change, and breakdown cultural barriers.

Presently, the Family Involvement Lead for CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) ensuring the family perspectives influence policy and practice, enhancing the support we provide. Supporting continuous improvement using the CEIM Care Experience Improvement Model to ensure families voices are listened to and acted upon.

Previous roles included Volunteering Development Manager in CHAS, understanding family’s needs to enable alignment of volunteer roles with family and hospices needs and goals amidst the challenge of the volunteering landscape.

Additional interests and roles include being part of the Trauma Informed Steering Group, EDI Strategy Group and Mental Health First Aider.

I love being part of the A&BTSI hearing about the rich tapestry and culture that is community, volunteering and social enterprise in Argyll and Bute.
