Census on Argyll and Bute’s Social Enterprise sector

In 2023 the Council, Inspiralba and the TSI commissioned the Social Value Lab to analyse the 2021 social enterprise sector data for Argyll and Bute.

The report makes for interesting reading and shows that whilst we have a good number of innovative and thriving social enterprises in Argyll and Bute we lag behind the Scottish average in terms of new start ups and in terms of their success in bidding for public sector contracts.

The report is a great conversation starter but we know there is a significant role for social enterprises in Argyll and Bute from the food sector to community owned renewable energy solutions to health and social care but we need more access to capital, planning and cross sector and community collaboration to make this happen.
