Community Learning Exchange on Coorie for winter when money is tight

When funds are limited any time of year can be challenging, however, winter even more so with the need to stay warm, have nutritious food and mitigate the impact of what for many can be a challenging time of year. This may be due to the low mood many experiences when the clocks change, the cost of the festive season and all the challenges that time of year can bring for people, or the cost of heating ourselves with warm clothing or keeping our home warm, especially if someone is experiencing a health challenge, or feels the cold more acutely due to age or other reasons.
We are delighted to be taking part in a Community Learning Exchange, supported by The Scottish Community Alliance, hosted by COPE Scotland and The Snow Drop Centre, where we will explore the theme of ‘Coorie’ in winter. During the exchange we are keen to learn from each other about:
- Practical ideas and strategies to stay warm and well in winter and beyond even when funds are tight.
- Learn about having a fun festive season which does not need to cost a fortune and ideas for how those who may be lonely at that time of year can feel more connected!
- Share ideas for when the nights draw in to maintain and promote our sense of wellbeing!

Why Attend?
The impact of the cost-of-living crisis is affecting all communities, however, there are examples where groups are getting together to mitigate the impact. None of us have time or resources to reinvent the wheel, learning from each other we can achieve so much more and also realise we are not alone. Come and be part of a nurturing community dedicated to fostering kindness to ourselves, each other, and the planet. We look forward to seeing you there! Together we can be the change.
