Network Weaving Tools in Action to support Digital Connectivity for Healthcare Improvement

While the developments in technology for health and care are developing at pace. There still remains a challenge for members of the public who are not digitally connected. This can lead to many issues including but not exclusively access to reliable information about their condition, leading to better understanding of their conditions and improved confidence for self management.
Digital connectivity can support adherence to treatment plans, and making informed decisions, leading to improved health outcomes, being able to access online portals, telehealth services, remote monitoring, online peer support groups, opportunities for better communication and coordination and more. It is therefore important that as well as developments in digital healthcare we ensure that people, especially those who are marginalized, are online to take advantage of this to avoid further widening the inequality gap.
Using the principles of Network weaving a hard copy (as well as online) booklet offering people information on how to become more digitally connected was developed with the members of Weaving Networks in MAKI. The session will have a presentation from the Digital Citizen Panel , run by the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (The ALLIANCE) https://www. alliance-scotland.org.uk/ digital/digital-health-and- care/our-work/digital-citizen- panel/ . This is a citizen led initiative to ensure people’s voices, especially from seldom heard groups, shape digital health and care services in Scotland, with a focus of empowering people to use digital tools for better wellbeing and access, overcoming the barriers to digital exclusion and supporting the national digital strategy.
The session will also cover how the booklet was developed using the principles of Network Weaving and how it is being used. There will be an opportunity to explore with peers how network weaving tools can be used to support digital connectivity.
This session is open to non Q members and is free
