Training – Human Trafficking

Survivors of Human Trafficking in Scotland (SOHTIS) will be conducting training on Human Trafficking, for staff in Argyll and Bute on the 23rd of September. If you would like to request a place on this training, please contact, [email protected] and request a place. The training will take place online via Team’s.
Human trafficking is one of the most misunderstood and growing crimes in Scotland. It is the exploitation of vulnerabilities, and so organisations that provide support or engage with vulnerable people are very likely to be coming into contact with victims and survivors. Ending human trafficking is everyone’s business, and no one’s contribution is insignificant.
Wherever there are vulnerable people, there is the possibility of trafficking and exploitation. It is therefore of vital importance that staff and volunteers who manage services, develop policy, or engage with vulnerable groups, understand how to identify the signs of human trafficking and are confident in their role in responding. To support prevention, risk mitigation, and to ensure more victims of human trafficking are recovered across Scotland, this training will help those attending to identify the signs of trafficking and know how and where to report concerns.
SOHTIS training programmes have been developed in line with the national Skills for Care training framework and the National Slavery and Trafficking Survivor Care Standards.
