New Resource: How to Advertise Your Community Activity

We know that one of the biggest challenges for community groups isn’t running a great activity — it’s letting people know it exists. With that in mind, we’re pleased to share a brand new Social Marketing Toolkit, developed by the Argyll and Bute TSI to help third sector organisations, community groups, and volunteers promote what they do.

What’s in it?

The toolkit covers everything from the basics — what is an app, how do I set up a Facebook page — through to practical guidance on knowing your audience, writing inclusive messages, creating simple content plans, and handling criticism online. It has been written with the questions TSI staff actually get asked in mind, so it starts from the ground up and doesn’t assume any prior knowledge.

For those who are already comfortable with social media, there is a Quick Guide section at the back — a summarised version with checklists you can use straight away.

Who is it for?

Anyone running or supporting a community group, activity, or event in Argyll and Bute. Whether you’re setting up a new walking group, promoting a regular coffee morning, or trying to reach new people for an existing activity, the toolkit has something useful for you.

The toolkit is free and available to download now.

A big thank you to Eleanor Balfour, Walking Development Officer for Communities Working Together, and to the wider TSI team for developing this resource.
