Online premiere of powerful Argyll and Bute documentary

People across Argyll and Bute are invited to join an online premiere of An Argyll and Bute Welcome, a powerful new documentary sharing the stories of people who have rebuilt their lives locally after fleeing conflict.

The online screening takes place at 7pm on Tuesday 17 February.

Over the past decade, families from countries including Syria, Ukraine, Sudan and Afghanistan have made Argyll and Bute their home. The short film, made by local filmmakers AyeGlas, shares their experiences and explores how communities can help people feel safe, welcomed and able to belong — becoming valued parts of everyday life in their new home.

Following the screening, there will be a live Q&A with filmmakers Andy and James, members of the council resettlement team, and residents featured in the film.

This event offers an opportunity to listen, reflect and learn more about the role communities play in offering welcome, safety and connection.
