Poppy’s Place ~ bringing peace & tranquillity to bereaved families
Anam Cara Fasgadh was founded in 2018 by 4 friends who are passionate about supporting families affected by the death of a baby, child or young person. Andrew, Michael, Jenni and Susan had met each other because they had experienced the pain of losing their much wanted, much loved babies to stillbirth. They gained charitable status in 2019 and started the hard work of raising funds.
Their core aim was to fund and provide respite accommodation for anyone affected by the loss of a child.
In 2022 they were delighted to refurbish and open Poppy’s Place, a comfortable caravan at award winning Tralee Bay Holidays on the West Coast of Scotland. The caravan nestles in 26 acres of woodland, on the shores of Ardmucknish Bay.
To date they have welcomed 65 bereaved families to this beautiful corner of Argyll. Guests receive a basic grocery pack, and also receive gifts to take home as a reminder of their break.
