Renowned Gaelic Singer Joy Dunlop to Perform and Present at VOY 25

We are delighted to announce that Joy Dunlop, acclaimed Gaelic singer, presenter, and broadcaster, will be joining us at the Volunteer of the Year Awards 2025 (VOY 25)!

Taking place on Friday, 6th June 2025 at Rosslea Hall Hotel, Helensburgh, this year’s awards will be a special celebration of the volunteers who give so much to their communities across Argyll & Bute.

Joy Dunlop is widely recognised for her beautifully expressive Gaelic singing and dedication to promoting the language and culture. She has performed and presented on some of Scotland’s biggest stages and broadcast platforms, captivating audiences with her music and storytelling.

At VOY 25, Joy will not only perform but also present the newly introduced Gaelic Volunteer Award, recognising individuals and groups who have made a meaningful impact in preserving and celebrating Gaelic within their communities.

Nominations Now Open

With nominations open until 18th April, we’re calling on communities across Argyll & Bute to help us recognise the incredible volunteers, teams, and organisations making a difference. There are 13 award categories and 17 trophies to be won, including:

  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Regional Hero Awards (covering Oban & Lorn, Helensburgh & Lomond, Mid Argyll & Campbeltown, Cowal & Bute, The Islands)
  • Gaelic Volunteer Award (New for 2025)
  • Sustainability Champion Award (Sponsored by ACHA)
  • Health & Wellbeing Volunteer (Sponsored by HSCP)
  • Sports Coach & Young Sports Coach of the Year (Sponsored by Live Argyll)
  • Community Learning Volunteer of the Year (Sponsored by Live Argyll)
  • Creative Legacy Award (New for 2025)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Volunteering Team of the Year
  • Volunteer Organisation of the Year
