Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund
Year 5 and 6
Applications are now open for the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults (Years 5 & 6), delivered locally by Argyll and Bute TSI on behalf of the Scottish Government.
This grant programme supports grassroots, community-led activity that promotes good mental health and wellbeing, with a strong focus on prevention, early intervention, and reaching those most at risk due to isolation, trauma, poverty, or inequality.
Projects must support adults (aged 16+) in Argyll & Bute and can include a wide range of community-based initiatives – from peer support and group activity to therapeutic sessions and wellbeing hubs.
💡 What’s New This Year?
- Multi-year funding is now available for the first time in Argyll & Bute, as part of the Scottish Government’s Fairer Funding pilot.
- Grants of up to £10,000 are available for single organisations, and up to £20,000 for partnerships.
- There is continued emphasis on supporting core costs and responses to the cost-of-living crisis.
📅 Key Dates & Deadlines
- Applications open: 15 August 2025
- Support from your Third Sector Support Advisor (TSSA) available until: 5 September 2025
- Application deadline: Midnight, 15 September 2025
- Reference panel to meet: Early October 2025
- Grant offer letters issued: Mid-October 2025
- Funding fully distributed by: Mid-November 2025
- End-of-grant report due: March 2026
- Organisations will have 18 months to spend their grant

Year 4
In year 4 of the fund, 50 organisations across Argyll & Bute were awarded a share of £280,979 through Year 4 of the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.
From small grassroots groups to established charities, projects ranged from peer support and counselling services to community transport and creative wellbeing initiatives.

Years 1–3
Over the first three years of the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, more than 100 organisations across Argyll & Bute received funding to support adults’ mental health and wellbeing through community-led action.
From grassroots groups to regional charities, these awards represent a wide range of creative, compassionate responses to local need — made possible thanks to Scottish Government investment, coordinated locally by Argyll and Bute TSI.
