Tips To Manage Stress

Tips to Manage stress
Over the past couple of weeks, I have shared some ideas on recognising stress, as well as some causes of stress and the impact of micro stressors. This week I wanted to offer some ideas on managing stress. I think it safe to say, these are things we know, however, for some reason we can find challenging bringing them into our everyday lives. Yet when we do make the effort, the rewards can make a big difference to our wellbeing.
The wee image with this piece offers some ideas to help manage stress, why not download it and put it somewhere you will see it each day as a reminder of things to do to help reduce the impact of stress on your wellbeing and share with others who may find it of interest. The ideas are simple but the results can be significant
- Keep stimulants to a minimum
- Drink water and stay hydrated
- Eat a healthy balanced diet
- Take time to relax
- Keep active and find a fun way to exercise
- Have fun and laugh on a regular basis
- If something is bothering you, please do something about it, seek help if you need to, we all need help sometimes.
- Discover your stress trigger buttons and learn to self-manage them
Practicing selfcare and showing compassion for ourselves as well as others can all help to reduce stress. There are many more ideas on our website all free to download.
This is a wee poem I wrote for something else, with the support of Magic Write on CANVA, the sentiment and most of the words are mine, the tweaks are Magic Write. They come with a genuine desire to put some kindness out into the world.
The wee poem
In a world that spins with ceaseless pace,
We seek solace and a kinder space.
When asked about our weekend’s tale,
We sometimes falter, feeling frail.
To sound engaging, to charm and sway,
When truly we just get through the day.
How do we return to simpler times,
Where small joys spark and simple chimes?
Back when smiles came from little things,
Not the pressure of what fame brings.
To be cherished just for being,
Not a star that’s always gleaming.
Accepted as we simply be,
With tales of books and cups of tea.
In kindness, to ourselves be true,
In every moment, me and you.
So let us honour what’s sincere,
In every laugh and every tear.
Together, let’s forge a gentle way,
Where kindness lights the path each day.
Kindness is one of the things which is in our control and really can be a superpower
Please remember you matter. Hoping these tips are helpful for you and those you support and work with
